What is the Yumi Honda Scholarship?
The Yumi Honda Scholarship is a unique initiative presented by BallroomBees, now entering its second year in 2026. This scholarship celebrates creativity, passion, and a love for dance values that lie at the heart of the BallroomBees community.
BallroomBees came together with Yumi Honda, a renowned philanthropist and arts patron, to create an initiative that would get more boys and girls into the arts and dance. Yumi is the founder and CEO of Oasis Spring Holdings, a luxury lifestyle consultancy, and is well known for her passion for Latin dance and her long-standing commitment to charitable causes, having served as chairwoman for numerous charities including Habitat for Humanity .
Together, we share a vision: to break down gender stereotypes and empower young children to discover the joy and confidence that dance brings.
This year, we are proud to announce that FOUR winners will be selected 2 boys and 2 girls!

Empower Your Students Through Dance
Partner with BallroomBees to bring physical literacy, confidence, and inclusivity to your school community. The Yumi Honda Scholarship is designed to complement early childhood development and physical education by encouraging children - both boys and girls - to discover the transformative power of dance.
Physical Literacy & Coordination:
Improves rhythm, spatial awareness, posture, and fundamental motor skills in young learners (Ages 3–10). Confidence & Social Connection: Builds emotional resilience, self-expression, and teamwork in a non-competitive, supportive environment.

Breaking Stereotypes:
Actively promotes co-ed artistic participation and creates an inclusive space that inspires boys to try dance.

The Yumi Honda Scholarship is made possible through the generous support and shared vision of Yumi Honda, a philanthropist and arts patron who is deeply passionate about the transformative power of dance.

Yumi is the founder and CEO of Oasis Spring Holdings, a luxury lifestyle consultancy for resort villa rentals and yacht chartering. She is well known for her passion for Latin dance and has been a long-time supporter of charitable causes, having served as chairwoman for numerous charities, including Habitat for Humanity.

When BallroomBees approached Yumi with the idea of creating a scholarship to get more boys and girls into the arts and dance, she immediately embraced the vision. Together, they launched the Yumi Honda Scholarship in 2025—a initiative that celebrates creativity, passion, and a love for dance.

Yumi believes that every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy and confidence that dance brings. Through this scholarship, she is helping to break down gender stereotypes and empower the next generation of young creatives.
