DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
We’re excited to share a wonderful opportunity for our young dancers! The Hong Kong Open Dance Championships, taking place on July 7 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), is a celebration of passion, movement, and artistic expression — right here in our city.
We were proud to have students participate in last year’s event, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to join again this year. It’s always an incredible experience for our dancers to take the stage, connect through the joy of dance, and be part of a truly international competition.
This is a fantastic chance for our students to shine, be inspired, and continue growing as part of a vibrant dance community.

FAQ
1. Who is eligible to register for the competition?
The competition is open to all students. Competitors should be able to dance independently without a parent and have their own dance routine for the dance they are competing in.
2. What is a dance routine? What if I do not have one?
A dance routine consists of at least 2 consecutive steps of the dance you are registered for. All Bee-A-Champion students have learned routines in their curriculum. Non-Bee-A-Champion students should reach out for private lessons to create a routine with our teachers.
3. Who needs to buy a ticket?
Registration includes entry for competitors, so they do not need a ticket. All non-competitors/audience members will need to purchase a ticket.
4. Where do we sit?
BallroomBees will have a designated seating section so we can cheer on our family together!
5. Which competition should we register for?
Bee-A-Champion students can reach out to their teachers for recommended dances. Non-Bee-A-Champion students can register for the dances they’ve prepared in private lessons.
6. Who will my child dance with?
If your child does not have a partner, they can compete in solo competitions. If they have a partner, they can compete as a couple. All competitors will dance with others of the same age.
7. Which age group should my child register for?
Competitors must be under the age stated for their competition on the day of the event. You can register for any age group above your child’s age (e.g., a 7-year-old can register for U8 and U10).
8. What should my child wear for the competition?
Competitors can wear their BallroomBees uniform or any ballroom/Latin attire. Hair must be tidy, and light makeup is acceptable.
