What skills will my child learn during their time while doing the BallroomBees Dance and Movement Camps?
From developing your child’s balance, coordination, spatial awareness and creativity. The BallroomBees Dance camps will also help build your child's focus and concentration. Children need to learn how to be nimble on their feet, and the BallroomBees 'footwork pattern' dances and activities will help with just that. BallroomBees specially curated dances, choreography and obstacle courses help develop those fundamental skills that our children need these days such as Agility, Balance and Coordination to live a healthy and balanced life. Footwork patterns are essential to our everyday life of our children. They have to be able to access a range of them and excel at them. For example, These skills can be used in everyday life such as moving through large crowds of people, and can also be applied to sports such as netball, football and handball, when dodging opponents and moving into space, running for the bus or dodging bicycles.
During our one-of-a-kind famous BB obstacle courses your children pivot, spin, balance, side step, and walk backwards and forwards using both balls of feet and heels of feet all while learning the correct direction of our line of dance.
Do participants need previous dance experience?
Camps are for everyone. Both new and seasoned students benefit significantly from Camps. Generally, great growth is experienced in students due to the nature and intensity of the camps. The camps in itself are about levelling/or building up progress. The students will be guided by our BB instructors through our BallroomBees curriculum modules from easy to hard levels
How many students are in each camp?
The number ranges from 5 up to 18. ( With classes above 10 students we will have another teacher) If joining 2 weeks of camps or more is the syllabus/choreography repeated? The more repetitions we do - The more control, and coordination we have and this ultimately leads to us “feeling” the dancing more. We teach fresh choreography by the week hence you will expect identical items to be repeated. But if your child did the GrowingBees camp and it was on the easier side then we would recommend the second week he or she would level up to a different age group. We offer bundled discounts for siblings or individuals who join more than 2 camps.
What are the age groups and how many hours the camps run for those age groups?
MiniBees: Unders 3’s - 1.5 hr
GrowingBees: 3-4yrs -2.5hrs
HoneyBees: 4-6yrs-2.5hrs
SuperBees & MightyBees: 7-11yrs - 3hrs
